that Hayman Reece step is brilliant for getting into the Troopy. Ours lasted 2 hours on the Oombulgurri track a few weeks ago... The rocks bent it and then broke it pretty damn fast. But hey... we bought the Troopy for using.

I’ve been a customer since they were at Kingswood doing the diesel/ gas conversions on my Disco 1, loved it, they know their stuff. I highly recommend KLR and Brad, Matt and James and their crew.

Ivan I fully support the guts at KLR since they were selling the diesel/gas conversion, that I loved, and I’ll be looking for a 6x to do similar. My old 4x4 Defender isn’t big enough. Lol.

Any thoughts on this set-up in Seatlte, Washington? The pacific northwest receives a lot of rain. An overland store employee told me to run it the "correct" orientation because the "front" is double sealed to prevent water from coming in at highway speeds. What are your thoughts? I toyed around with the idea of a sock to fit over the front if i ever drive in the rain.

Great update, Video. The steel box on the back is easier to modify than the fibreglass one. Unless you are good at working with fibreglass (The Aussie Repair Guy has the fibreglass back on his).The paint job looks good as well as the lights and snorkel. Significant improvements to the Perentie since the last update. Spending $100k on a 6x6 camper is a bargain these days. I am looking forward to the next update.

the worst description of the conversion job....jumps from one thing to another...low level of technical data ..sentences filled with some rubbish talks...and then his summary about the conversation: "...its not the best thing to do or its not the worst thing to do..." that is how he advertise this conversation...joke...hmm interesting

The 6x6 Australia rear end is the worst design. Multiple flaws.

Wouldn't be easier to release the other gas strut and mount both again. No need to compress anything. You may have damaged the gas strut when you bent it.

Why did you buy a double cab, when in reality you are using the rear seats as part of the camping cabin, with fridge, equipment, etc? Would it not be better to use an extended cab or single cab instead, and have all the living cabin in one piece?

PLEASE for the love of god do not do this.... this is how people die. Get a professional to do it, don't use ratchet straps.

Great video mate, I'm still waiting for my troopy, which I've now been told will be the updated style. I'm going to fit it out myself like I did years ago on my beloved HJ47. I'm still up in the air if I should get a roof conversion or not, I know there are three to choose from with the Mulgo already ruled out because it's too short for me. That obviously leaves Headspace and Alucab. I'm not sure which one would be the best if I choose to go for the conversion, Alucab has definitely got a great reputation, but I'm thinking about headroom because I'm 6'3 even though I'm not sure what the interior heights are on both. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Oh yeah, Toyota has also said I can have a Troopy before the end of the month if I want a white 4 cylinder one. No thanks, I'll wait.
